Friendly House, Inc. is a community-based organization that has served the valley since 1920. As part of its investment in the community, The Vicki Romero Foundation Scholarship has been established to award tuition scholarships to three deserving TRIO participants who are first generation, meet income eligibility guidelines and reside in Arizona attending a Maricopa Community College in Fall 2024. Students are chosen based on need and merit. If selected for the second round, applicants will be required to
complete an in-person interview with the scholarship committee. Vicki Romero Foundation scholarship recipients will be required to attend an award meeting in May, date to be determined.

Eligibility Requirements:

Be a participant of the Friendly House TRIO Talent Search Program

Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States
-
Graduating High School Senior
-
First-generation student
-
Admitted and enrolled as a full-time student (12 credit hours) at a Maricopa Community College

3.25 GPA or higher
-
Demonstrate financial need and leadership skills

Application Procedure and Checklist: Must complete and submit a scholarship application along with
required supporting documents noted below.
Submit (1) Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, counselor or community leader who can
address academic achievement, leadership experience, and personal character of student.
Recommender must email letter to Vanessa.Sandoval@friendlyhouse.org
Upload a (1) page double spaced essay answering the following questions:
